Kiwi cannot survive in the forest unprotected - young chicks are particularly vulnerable to attack.

The forest at Pukaha Mount Bruce is unfenced so the predators can get in. We use trap lines and bait stations to get rid of the predators so the kiwi and other birds can survive - we call this pest control.
