Pukaha Mount Bruce Supporters

Dear Pukaha Mount Bruce Supporter

Thank you for your continued interest and support. We realise you may not have hear from us for a while. This makes us doubly-delighted to send you a link to our new website www.pukaha.org.nz.

This new site forms part of the next stage of development at Pukaha and highlights the many attractions and activities a visitor can experience when they come and see us. Please click through to it and have a look around.

We launched the site recently to our major financial sponsors along with an outline of the Stage 2 Development and new membership and supporters programmes. Stage 2 Development at Pukaha includes upgrading the Nocturnal Kiwi House so that visitors can observe even more of our national icon as well as a much improved enclosure for the tuatara. We are also looking at developing new exhibits that will include native frogs, weta, weevils, skinks and geckos.

With over 30,000 visitors per year at Pukaha, and 99% of those seeking a kiwi experience, it is vital we keep Pukaha and all its amenities in world-class condition.

We have had tremendous feedback from members, supporters and visitors on the completion of Stage 1 Development. The award-winning Interactive Gallery where you can experience the forest in ancient times, including seeing huia and moa in the wild, has drawn visitors from all over the world. Our upgraded entrance and improvements to the cafe and viewing areas have recently won architectural awards.

If you have not visited in while, we would love to see you. Or, to get some of that experience click though now and check it all out www.pukaha.org.nz

Restoring the Forest will bring the birds back

Year on year, the condition of the Pukaha forest continues to improve and native birds are thriving as a result. This is thanks to you and your financial support.

To continue this tremendous success we need to maintain an extensive pest control system. By providing a safe habitat, together we are working to provide a home for up to 600 kaka, 400 kokako, 500 kiwi and simply thousands of tui, fantail and waxeye (as well as many other native species).

We invite you to view our three supporter programmes here http://www.pukaha.org.nz/get-involved. There are several levels of membership as well as the opportunity to send your family and friend a gift membership. You also have an option to donate directly to the Forest Restoration Fund.

All support is welcomed and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your past, and future committment to Pukaha Mount Bruce. If you do not wish to receive occassional news and updates from us in the future, please click here. We respect your privacy.
